The first Round-Up Wagon Train started at the "Mustang Grounds" east of Pendleton and ended in the Pendleton Round-up arena in 1982. This wagon train was not open to the public, but it started an adventure that has continued for 35 years. The 1983 wagon train opened to the public and has been traveling the forest service roads, logging roads and trails of the Blue Mountains surrounding Pendleton ever since.
The Wagon Train is always the last full week in June. The dates for 2017 are June 19th thru 24th, We mobilize on Monday, travel Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, have breakfast on Saturday morning break camp and go home. We have 12-14 wagons and 110+ horseback riders traveling in the Blue Mountains south and east of Pendleton, Oregon.
