6th Annual Hall of Fame Benefit and Whisky Tasting Party
Friday, April 25, 2008
6 PM to 10 PM at the Let'er Buck Room
PENDLETON, OR –The Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon Hall of Fame annual Monte Carlo Night benefit fundraiser has a new name and a new partner. The Hall of Fame and Round-Up Associations have joined forces to create the 6th annual Hall of Fame Casino Night and Pendleton Whisky Party. The event is scheduled to begin at 6pm on April 25th at the Let ‘er Buck room in the Pendleton Round-Up grounds. The event will utilize the recently expanded portion of the Let ‘er Buck room, as well as the original section.
Both events have been held separately in the past, and the Round-Up board of directors and Hall of Fame board of directors made the decision to join forces in the hope to create a double benefit to both organizations. The event will feature Pendleton Whisky, along with other bar and soft drinks, food, and dancing.
Mike Thorne, Round-Up Publicity director says that this partnership just makes sense.
“We all know the Hall of Fame is a great organization that we need to perpetuate,” he said. “We have a successful event that could add awareness and hopefully funds to the Hall of Fame’s efforts. We think it’s a win-win for everyone.”
Nels Nelson, Hall of Fame Publicity director is optimistic about the results of this new venture.
“We work hard all year long to raise money for the Hall of Fame and to continue to keep the Hall of Fame museum up to date,” he said. “We need to find the most efficient ways to raise those funds, and we think this will be one of our biggest all year. Plus, people can show up and really have a great time.”
The Round-Up and Happy Canyon Hall of Fame will be the beneficiary of all proceeds from the event.
The Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon is held the second full week of September in Pendleton, Ore. The Round-Up began in 1910 and is recognized as one of the oldest and most prestigious rodeos in the world and won the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s 2003 Large Outdoor Rodeo Committee of the Year Award. The Happy Canyon Night Show is a colorful display of Indian pageantry and tradition and takes place every night of Round-Up. A week full of activities, including parades, concerts, PBR bull-riding competition, barbecues, dances, gambling and numerous other events begin Saturday, Sept. 6th and continue through Saturday, Sept. 13th.
